Are you ready for 2022? It’s a whole new world that we live in compared to even just a couple of years ago. Staying ahead of your competition with content that is relatable and engaging is critical. There is so much information out there and so much pulling at your audience, more than ever before, you need to bring your best every day or you’ll slip off the radar.
USER-GENERATED INSTAGRAM CONTENT
In the world of digital marketing, Instagram is popular and powerful. Over a billion users access the platform every month. The average user stays on for 30 minutes and that makes a great audience for marketers to reach. 200 million users will go to a business page every day. The large majority of them will use Instagram to research a product or service before they purchase. If you ever doubt the power of the human connection, remember that 92% of people will depend on a referral from someone they don’t even know when they’re deciding whether or not to purchase a product or invest in a service. Instagram filters allow others to create content for your brand and 79% of users will allow this content to determine their purchasing actions.
GUESTOGRAPHICS
Just what are Guestographics anyway? I’m sure by now you’ve heard this term and we are going to break it down for you. Basically speaking, a Guestographic is a guest designed infographic that includes both text and images. It is designed to be published or linked to or from multiple websites. You can publish an infographic on your site and then ask to have it (along with a link to your site) published on someone else’s site. You are, in essence, ‘Guest’ writing for their website. You want to approach websites with content that relates to yours and that have authority. You’ll want to create an original “opener” for them so they don’t have to work to figure out how to introduce what YOU are saying to THEIR audience. Make it professional, appealing, an easy YES for them.
Okay, great, now you know what they are, but why do it? Guestographics are great for SEO. They give you authority and boost brand awareness. Don’t panic, creating an infographic is free and easy with Canva. If you aren’t interested in the DIY approach, however, we’re here to help.
INSTRUCTOGRAPHICS
We’ve all seen them. Great little infographics that explain how to do something without making us zone out or click off; these are instructographics. They are excellent at quickly, visually explaining your product and how to use it.
Again, Canva is a great tool for creating infographics.
WHITEBOARD VIDEOS
Whiteboard videos are a fun way to create a sense of curiosity for the viewer as they wait for the rest of the story to be told. You can use them to explain many things including a process or point. It’s okay if you don’t know how to draw and record yourself! There are programs like Doodly and Doodle Maker that make it simple to create and publish these videos. Inside Doodly, for example, you can choose characters, indoor and outdoor settings, real vs cartoon drawing hands, add voiceover, change background appearance to something like a chalkboard, and more.
CAROUSEL POSTS
A Carousel post is simply multiple photos, and perhaps video, in a single Instagram post. They have a higher rate of engagement than a single photo because they are interactive. The user has to swipe to get to the next image and most people have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) so they won’t stop swiping until they’ve seen everything. Each swipe after the first validates the time they took to swipe on the preceding image. Instant gratification over and over. The most effective carousel posts have between 8 and 10 images and videos. Make sure to include a call-to-action in the post.
SCREENCAST VIDEOS
A Screencast video is one in which you share your screen with your audience. They’re great for explaining how to do something and answering frequently asked questions. They’re also excellent at showcasing YOU as the expert. People see you and hear your voice showing them the way and it increases your credibility and authority. With tools like OBS, it’s easy (and free) to start recording.
WORK WITH INFLUENCERS
Influencers already have an audience which is great for getting your product or service out on social media and helping to increase your revenue. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a credible, market appropriate influencer for your business. You’re going to want to work with Micro influencers (10,000-100,000 followers) and Nano influencers (1,000-10,000 followers) instead of trying to land a movie or television star that is known world-wide.
Ask who your fans are following on social media, research hashtags, and look at bloggers to find influencers for your brand.
Now that you know, Go and Do! Get creative! Start making the most of your content and see how different 2022 can be!
